University of Houston Nursing offers excellent and flexible undergraduate and graduate programs for nurses who are busy but are interested in advancing their nursing careers. Students who already have a bachelor's degree can become nurses in the Second Degree program from the University of Houston Nursing.

Philosophy and Conceptual Framework
Nursing students are diverse, creative, and enter the academic environment with expertise and experience from an educational background. Learning is a response to innovative and evidence-based pedagogy delivered in a high-tech environment. Undergraduate Programs of University of Houston Nursing
The University of Houston Nursing has 3 of the most well-known undergraduate programs, namely, RN to BSN, Second Degree BSN and Traditional BSN.
RN to BSN
The RN program to BSN is offered by the University of Houston Nursing on the Sugar Land campus, the University of Houston's main campus, and online. This program is specifically for registered nurses who have worked and have completed their associate degrees and subsequent RN licenses to advance their professional qualifications while continuing to live and work in the larger Houston community and the Sugar Land.
Second Degree BSN
This program is offered at the UH Nursing campus in Sugar Land, near Houston Texas. The second level undergraduate program is an intensive and full-time 12-month program for people who hold a bachelor's or master's degree in another field who want to become a registered nurse (RN). The program is accelerated and designed to facilitate career change for experienced and more mature students. The next admission for the BSN fast track program is Spring 2019.
Traditional BSN
Coming fall 2019 to UH Katy! The first BSN Traditional Track was designed to look for degrees in new college students who want to get a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and qualify to take the National Council License Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). After entering the nursing program, junior and senior years will be taught at the University of Houston Katy's location.

Houston University Nursing Graduate Program
The University of Houston Nursing offers a Master of Science degree in Nursing. Our enhanced face-to-face and web classes are designed to handle your busy schedule, and you will receive quality university education from superior teaching staff with exceptional grades. The MSN Education Pathway and the Family Nurse Practitioner Pathway are offered at the University of Houston in Sugar Land and the main campus of the University of Houston. The MSN Administration pathway is offered Online, the University of Houston at Sugar Land, and the University of Houston's main campus.
The Master of Science in Nursing program is designed to build upon a BSN degree. Students in this program are prepared to function at an advanced level with expanded theoretical knowledge, research and clinical applications. Graduates are ready to provide evidence-based health care and to work in collaborative teams. Each graduate can play a further practice role as a Nurse Administrator, Nurse Educator, and Family Nurse Practitioner. Nurses with master's degrees in other disciplines or who wish to qualify for the Certified Nurse exam can take the graduate master educator course.
MSN Administration
The Administration track prepares students to lead health care innovations by increasing access, addressing quality and safety issues, and overseeing financial and operating health care organizations.
MSN Education
Through the Education track, nurse educators prepare to apply educational theory and practice, develop courses and curricula for students and nursing staff, and develop classrooms and clinical strategies to prepare nurses to function in a health care environment.
Family Nurse Practitioners
The FNP track integrates academic and community-based training to promote evidence-based approaches to the care of individuals, families and communities. Hybrid track graduates offer face-to-face classes one day a week for maximum scheduling flexibility for students, while offering important benefits from role modeling and networking with leaders in this profession.
