Curriculum
The Chamberlain Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) curriculum is designed to advance students' abilities to retain and apply essential knowledge. The focus is on conceptual learning, and gives students specific skills to be able to translate theory into practice.
Both hands-on experience at the SIMCARE CENTER ™ Chamberlain and on-site clinical settings enable nursing students to work alongside faculty, mentors, peers, and experienced professional nurses as they improve their direct patient-care nursing skills.
The BSN degree program consists of a minimum of 122 credit hours: 56 credit hours in general education and 66 credit hours in nursing majors.
Registration Requirements
Prospective students must complete the application and interview with Chamberlain admissions representatives. When all admission requirements are met, applicants are notified in writing of their admission status to certain Chamberlain programs and locations.

Family Nurse Practitioners
The FNP curriculum starts with core MSN level courses in nursing theory, research, leadership, developing professional roles, health policy and informatics in health care. You will then move to special FNP courses, building nursing practice and professional knowledge as you prepare to take part in national certification as a family nurse practitioner.
Practicum courses from the dedicated FNP pathway allow direct learning and classroom learning designed to help you become a confident practitioner. We strongly recommend that you review the practicum requirements before registering for the FNP Specialty Track.
Nurse Executive
Chamberlain College from Nursing's MSN Executive Specialty Track promotes skills and knowledge that can be applied by nurse leaders immediately, and is used to plan and achieve change. The course emphasizes the application of theory, using real-world scenarios and tools. Key executive skills such as communicating effectively across disciplines, budgeting, staffing, and performance measurement are taught. Curriculum
What will I learn? The DNP Chamberlain curriculum is designed to help you develop and advance your practice to a new level. The didactic course leads to a four-part project and practicum that is designed to teach you to research, develop and implement practical change solutions.
Curriculum that focuses on practice
The special pathway for the Health Care Leadership System DNP Chamberlain is designed for registered nurses with a master's degree in nursing, and requires completion of 32 to 40 credit hours and a total of 1,024 hours of post-baccalaureate practicum. You can complete two courses per semester for a total of six semesters.
Chamberlain provides the opportunity to enroll in preparatory courses to prepare students for entry into the Doctor of Nursing (DNP) program. While the DNP program is designed for registered nurses with a master's degree in nursing, registered nurses with master's degrees in fields other than nursing must move or complete at least five Chamberlain programs (15 credits) before being treated in the Doctor of Nursing practical degree program.
