Clinical Education at Cizik School of Nursing
The Cizik School of Nursing relies on teachers and clinical clinics in the community to help educate our students. The school has more than 200 clinical affiliations, including all agencies at Texas Medical Center and many in the wider community.
All types of clinical institutions, which include community outpatient clinics and private practitioner offices - in Houston and outside Houston - provide students with clinical experience as needed. Among the many affiliated institutions are:

UTHealth School of Nursing is now better known by its new name as Cizik School of Nursing.
The story begins with Jane and Robert Cizik giving a gift of $25 million to the School of Nurses at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston (UTHealth).

Jane and Robert Cizik provide schools with the resources and capacity to shape the future of nursing education and the provision of health care.
On November 15, 2017, UTHealth President Giuseppe N. Colasurdo, MD, and UTHealth School of Nursing Dean Lorraine Frazier, Ph.D., RN, made the announcement in recognition of the Cizik family, the school will be renamed Jane and Robert Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth.
Since its founding in 1972, UTHealth School of Nursing is recognized as a place where outstanding faculty members help outstanding students find, study and practice the art and science of nursing.
UTHealth Schools of Nursing has more than 11,000 alumni and more than 1,600 students currently. The Ciziks Prize is the biggest in the history of
nursing school.
Jane Cizik said the deep appreciation for the nursing profession, the need to address the shortcomings of nurses and the UTHealth star nursing program motivated family gifts.
