nursing schools in Houston, Lee College's administration, faculty and staff are committed to student success and strive to help students become nurses.
They continually review and assess program results and student achievement, using data to encourage decision making in nursing programs. Lee's have various ways student achievement is measured, and we recognize that there are variables, which affect student outcome data.
Measures for student achievement include the success of graduates on licensing and / or certification exams, completion of students from the nursing program within 150 percent of the program length, and the ability of graduates to get a job.

Associate Degree Nursing Program
The aim of the Associate Degree Nursing Program is to prepare students with initial competency to practice as registered nurses after successfully writing the National Council License Exam for Registered Nurses.
It is recommended that applicants complete some or all of the general education programs in the curriculum before entering into the program. After successfully completing this program, graduates are entitled to take the National Council License Exam for Registered Nurses.
Registered Nurse Program
After passing the exam, graduates are licensed as Registered Nurses. Job opportunities include hospitals, clinics, home health care facilities, long-term care facilities, industry, and specialized health care hospital units.
Registered nurses work within the scope of nursing as defined by the Nursing Practice Act in the State of Texas.
The Lee College Nursing Division is committed to lifelong learning and encourages students to continue their education. The Lee College Nursing Division has articulation agreements for the RN-BSN program with Lamar University, Texas Tech University, and Chamberlain University.
After the Associate Degree Nursing graduates pass the NCLEX-RN exam, they are entitled to switch to the BSN program.
The articulation agreement makes this transition smooth. Students who are interested in pursuing the RN-BSN program should contact the nursing admission or counseling office for more information.

Lee College Student employment policy
Students applying to join the program are advised to contact the Office of Financial Aid, Project Allowance, and Job Placement for financial assistance information. Lee College's demographics show a relationship between the number of hours worked and the value for the nursing student population; that is, the more hours worked, the lower the value.
When working for compensation, student performance is the legal responsibility of the employer agent and individual students. Students may not wear Lee College uniforms while working for compensation or other times other than when assigned to certain facilities by the official Lee College Nursing faculty.
Students must wear identification and regular uniform from the position where they are employed and must carry liability insurance. Students who work for compensation are not governed by Lee College's policies. Nursing students must be familiar with and adhere to the "DELEGATION RULES" from Texas BON that describe tasks that can be delegated by RN to unlicensed personnel and nursing students.
